I have a printer that is giving me problems with users.
In my print server, all printers but the one that is giving me the problem use the same driver. They are all HP printers. The one that is giving me a problem does not have a network interface so I had to buy a usb to network print server adapter. The adapter would not accept the universal HP drivers so I had to install the specific printer driver for that printer.
The issue I am having is that after a certain time, the user is no longer able to print to the printer because it says that it needs drivers installed. I, as admin, installed the drivers first before allowing the user to login. I then deploy the printer using group policy to the user. This allows the user to get the printer mapped since the driver is already installed. When the issue occurs, I have to login as admin again and re-install the same drivers. Nothing on the printer server changed.
What could be causing this?
