I have migrated to non-clustered Windows Server 2008 R2 print servers. I have old Microsoft Failover Cluster print servers on Windows 2003 R2. I now wish to verify that all clients have ceased using the old print servers. To confirm this I believe the simple method would be to search the System log for event ID 10 records. However, I am unable to turn on informational print logging in the cluster.
You see, the Print Server Advanced Properties controls the non-clustered print spooler properties. I have enabled all logging options in that GUI and restarted the print spooler service. Still no event 10s even after I send through a test print job from a test client. In cluster administrator the properties of the print server resource explose the location of the print spooler folder, but no other properties, such as logging options.
Where do I enable informational print logging in a Windows Server 2003 R2 Microsoft Failover Cluster?
Attached are screen shots. The first is from Failover Cluster for the print server resource. The second is the local print server properties on the cluster node.
Thank you.
George
P.S. I have, of course, searched Microsoft documentaion and forums and done Google searches for an answer, with no success. How can this not have been asked before? Puzzling.
