We just did a fresh install of Windows Server 2012 R2 x64 standard edition on our domain controller. The domain controller has a shared printer that is accessed by computers in the domain. It is a Canon ImageCLASS D1180 printer.
When we were running Windows Server 2008 R2, we had no problem installing the Windows 7 printer driver for this printer onto the domain controller so that clients could automatically download the driver when connecting to the printer.
The issue is that we are unable to install the x64 Windows 2012 R2, Windows 2012, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7 printer drivers on our Windows Server 2012 R2 domain controller. When we attempt to install the printer driver, we get an error that says"Unable to install Canon D1100 Series UFRII LT, Type 3 - User Mode, x64 driver. The parameter is incorrect" (see below).
The driver package from Canon includes other drivers, but I was not able to successfully install any of them either.
Has anyone else had experience with this problem or might know where else to look?
