I have a Ricoh C5502 PLC 6 device used by our accounts department, and I need to set it so that by default it prints Black and White, 2 sided, onto Middle Thick Printer, and so that they also have the option to print as; Black and White, 1 sided, Middle Thick; Colour, 2 sided, Middle Thick; and Colour, 1 sided, Middle thick.
To do this I have
- Logged into the print server
- Gone to Devices and Printers
- Right clicked on the printer, and clicked Printer Properties
- Clicked Change Properties and authenticated as administrator
- Clicked on Advanced Tab
- Clicked on Printing Defaults
- Within Printing Defaults > One Click Presets tab I have created and registered the One Click Presets as required
- Clicked on Manage Preset List and put the presets I have created into the order required
I have then remove the printer from my Windows 7 machine and re-added it from the Print Server (by going to Add a Printer, Add a Network Printer, clicking on 'The printer that I want isn't listed', entering hte UNC path for the printer, clicking next, and
clicking Finish.
When I then try to send a job to the printer from my Windows 7 client and go to 'Properties', the One Click Presets that I have set in the Printing Defaults on the server are not showing up for the client.
I need to get this working so I can remove and re-map the printer to all of my users via Group Policy. With the amount of time I've now spent on this, admittedly I could've just set up the printer settings on each client machine individually and had plenty
of time left over for a cup of tea and a double chocolate digestive, but at this point is driven me up the wall so much that I'm determined to sort it. I'm aware I'm probably missing something very obvious, if anyone has any tips I'd really like to hear from
you.
