We have a networked Xerox printer which incorrectly shows offline for a couple users on a domain. When those particular users go to print, the print jobs sit in the queue until the print spooler service is restarted. One of the users reports that when he restarts the print spooler service, the printer then appears online and he is able to print to it.
Troubleshooting steps:
- Had the user run the Microsoft print fixit scripts found here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askperf/2012/02/24/microsoft-fixit-for-printing/
- Disabled the "SNMP Status Enable" option on the printer
- Installed KB2961042 on the server
- Installed KB2613128 on user's computer
