We are in the process of updating our windows 2008 print servers to windows 2012 r2.. the print export/ import process found online worked for the first server, but the second server, the import appeared to work. It shows all the printers (44 total), and test print worked, etc.
Come Monday morning, we find some desktops weren't printing and it was asking for a file path to print to.. for some reason the port created on the import process was 'File' and not the usual HST_printername port (TCP/IP).. about five of the 44 printers had this happen.
Going forward is there a way to prevent this from happening?
We have print servers that have 300+ print queues and I don't want to have to manually check everyone if it can be avoided...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
