Removing WSD port removal method deletes the print queue

All,

I used the following method to remove unwanted WSD ports from my Windows Server 2008 print server:

• I could not delete WSD ports found on our print server as the print server thought they were still in use.
• Did some Googling and found a few posts suggesting this method to get rid of WSD ports:
  • Create a dummy print queue
  • Assign it the WSD port you want to remove
  • Delete the dummy queue
  • Repeat for each WSD port

However, when I did this the legitimate (TCP/IP) print queue was deleted and I had to recreate it.

Does this behavior make sense to anyone?
