Since we introduced Windows 7 into our network we have had problems with the alphabetizing of the printers. I found this article but it refers to Windows NT. support.microsoft.com/kb/154475 I have also found others with similiar problems over the net but with no answers. We have a Windows 2008 R2 standard print server with 31 printers installed. Not all users have every printer, it's mostly controlled by department but a few of them have all the printers and before they changed from XP to Windows 7 they would alpha sort. From the information on the printers I couldn't work out any pattern it was following to sort them. It seems fairly random but it has to be getting it from somewhere. This has been frustraing our users for awhile so any help anyone could provide would be fantastic. If you require further details please let me know.
