Setup:
I have a Windows 2008 print server and an HP LaserJet 4350 dtn. I've loaded the latest universal printer drivers (32 & 64 bit). In the control panel the printer is configured to print on plain letter paper from all trays and duplexing is turned on - I'm talking about the settings on the printer itself, not the print server. In the printer properties on the 2008 print server, it shows all trays as having letter size paper and the duplexer is installed. I can print a test page (right click on printer, select properties and click print test page) from a Windows 7 machine through the 2008 server without difficulty.
Problem 1:
If I try to print a document from Word I get message "The margins of section 1 are set outside the printable area of the page" If I look at the page size in Word it only shows page size options of 8 x5, 8W x 5L and 8L x 5W. I can select More Paper Sizes and it shows 8.5 x 11 as a custom paper size but I don't seem to be able to get that size to stick - that is, I still can't print a doc that is full size without getting the previously mentioned error. If I change to print this document on a different printer on my print server, I don't have this problem. Why isn't Letter size paper an option for this one particular printer?
Problem 2:
If I tell it to ignore the previously mentioned margin error message and continue to print it doesn't automatically print duplexed even though I have selected it to print duplex. What can I do to get it to automatically duplex?
Thanks for your assistance with these two issues.
