I have a Windows Server 2012 Print Server (and domain controller) with about 15 HP LaserJet 4050N's added to it. I am using the HP universal driver, as I couldn't find a another one that would work. I have set up group policy to send every printer to each user.
It worked in my test environment. However, when I tried to introduce it into my production environment seemingly every print job gives me this error:
PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: UnsupportedProtocol
Operator: 0x0
Position: 0
I also notice that, on the printer list in Print Management, it shows duplicates which end in(redirected 1) ie STATION118-PRINTER (redirected 1). It even does this to the build in Fax.
The client PCs run Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
Does anyone know what causes this, and how to fix it?
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Wes
