I'm trying to install a Canon imageRUNNER C3220 on our 2008 R2 Print Server. So far I've been loading all PCL6 drivers since I read that you shouldn't mix PCL5, 5c,5e or 6 if you can avoid it.
When I visit the Canon website, I filter my results to the Color imageRUNNER C2620/C3220 page and view the driver downloads. I select the PCL6_v6.90_WinXP-Win7_x64.exe and extract it's contents. When adding the printer to the Print Server, I select Have Disk and browse to the extracted driver file, and select the.INF file. When I'm presented with the page to select the model, I do not see the iR C3220 (or C2620) model listed. On a whim, I chose the Windows Update feature and it lists a Canon iR C3220 PCL. It does not list a number behind PCL. I’m wondering if I would be OK using the driver from Windows Update or if anyone has any suggestions for this printer.
Cheers
